January Children’s Book Author Interview: Author #3 C.J. Rains

Charlotte (C.J.) Rains is an award-winning children’s book author from a small town in southern Arizona. She has 3 adult children, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Charlotte was born in Arkansas, but grew up in Arizona when her family decided to relocate when she was just ready to begin her school years. She fell in love with books and reading at an early age and it soon developed into a love of writing when a poem she had written was published in one of her school’s year books. She continued to write for pleasure into her adult years, but never considered being published until she joined an online writing group and was encouraged by her close writing friends to publish her poetry.
Since then she has authored four poetry books for adults, 6 children’s books, and her works can be found in numerous anthologies both nationally and internationally.
Her first children’s poetry book, “Ladybug! Ladybug!” received 2 book awards in the first six months of publication, including the 2017 Silver Feathered Quill Book Award for best illustrated poetry book.
Her latest children’s book, “Meagan’s Wish” was just released this month and there are more in the works.
