As a part of our effort to showcase new authors on our website, we are using the FREE publicity section to publish one featured review from an author every Friday to help authors find new readers, and readers new books.

This week, we are featuring author Donald Firesmith from the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre

Biography:

Donald Firesmith is a multi-award-winning author of speculative fiction including science fiction (alien invasion), fantasy (magical wands), and modern urban paranormal novels. Prior to recently retiring to devote himself full-time to his novels, Donald Firesmith earned an international reputation as a distinguished engineer, authoring seven system/software engineering books based on his 40+ years spent developing large, complex software-intensive systems. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife Becky, his son Dane, and varying numbers of dogs and cats.

The Secrets of Hawthorne House

This is a brilliant book. It’s about friendship, loyalty, secrets, magic, loss, and love (there’s a little romance in there too). It’s funny in places, well I thought parts were funny lol. It’s about two families from backgrounds which couldn’t be more different if they tried who come together. It even covers high school bullying and of course, magic. If you are a fan of Harry Potter and Bella Forest’s Spellshadow Manor series, you will love this book. The story-line has been well thought out and draws you in wanting to know what is going to happen next. It’s brilliantly written, and [I] really do recommend you read it if you like any books that involve magic and mystery. I think you will enjoy it!! I’m looking forward to reading the next chapter of this story. It would make a great series.
