I won this book as part of the first reads program. It was not what I expected, but it was still rather enjoyable. It was definitely written for a low to middle grade reader, and the structure helped emphasize that point. To me, it read as fairly disjointed, but I’m also rather certain that that was a purposeful stylistic choice. I enjoyed the overall content, and would be willing to say that it would help teach some morality lessons to younger children, which makes it an even better choice. The only reason I wouldn’t give it five stars is due to the writing style, but otherwise it was a fun, quick read.
