So, the 2nd question is “It is said to be crucial for YA authors to find the “Emotional Truth” of the teenage experience. Do you agree?”

1) Author #1: Jesse Frankel

I think that it’s crucial they try to find that ‘truth’…the question is how. For me, it’s reflecting on the days of my youth and the choices I made. Sometimes, those choices weren’t the best ones, and that means my characters won’t always make the right choices, either. Now,, do all YA authors find that truth? In my opinion, no. But for me, I have–or, at least, I think I have–by recalling what I did then, and putting myself in the shoes of my characters. Perhaps that’s not the best way, but it works for me.

2) Author #2:  Roxanne San Jose

No, because it is part of life to experience challenges and it is up to that person how he or she handles it.

3) Author #3: Diane Guntrip

Yes, I do agree with this statement. It is vital that books must be written to appeal to the YA audience. To do this, it is important to include subjects that are relevant to the target audience and with which they identify emotionally.

4) Author #4: Katy Mitchell

As a writer, I think it is important to write characters with which your reader can identify with and build a connection with over the course of your story, so yes, I would agree this statement.

5) Author #5: Marisa Noelle

I think it depends on what you want your reader to feel. The teen years are a tricky time of puberty, self-identity and first love, and to read about those things in a novel that can support your own experiences is comforting. It makes the novel stand up above the rest as an emotional connection is formed. Having said that, there are some great reads that don’t look to send a message and are fun and light-hearted. I think those are equally important. We don’t always need to learn something.

6) Author #6: Amy Beashel

Absolutely. It’s the latter years of adolescence that really interest me. That period of life when you’re not quite adult, not quite child, when you believe you should know yourself but that knowledge feels like it’s rooted in jelly. Sometimes too wobbly and sticky to fully enjoy the sweet stuff.

7) Author #7: T.K. Kiser

Stories must ring true. The conflict must be real conflict, and emotion is absolutely part of that. Readers of thirteen or fourteen years old, for whom The Manakor Chronicles are written, are at such an incredible place emotionally. This is the time when you look at what your parents believe and start to challenge that within yourself. It’s when you decide what matters to you, and what you’re willing to sacrifice to get what you want. You decide what sort of person you want to be, what level of importance you give to your character, and how much you value yourself. This time of life is interiorly intense, and I love a story that corresponds to that.

8) Author #8: K.B. Shinn

Absolutely. Teenagers can spot a fake from a mile away, and they hate being condescended to. What I can now see as a typical teen problem felt much more devastating at the time that I was living it, because I didn’t have the insight that maybe it wasn’t that bad. Hearing adult authority figures tell me that it wasn’t that bad or in ten years I would laugh at it meant nothing. To write for a young audience, you have to be able to retain at least in part a teen’s emotional truth: everything is high stakes, everyone is watching you, the world is scary and uncertain, no one understands, and nothing ends–until it does, and then it is devastating. They need to be able to feel like someone who has been through it all is confiding in them, showing that they’ve done hard things before and can get through this one now.

9) Author #9: Shirley McCann

Yes and no. While it’s important to learn the feelings of teenagers, writers need to expand and create their own characters.

10) Author #10: Claire Moore

I think emotional truth is important to respect and reflect the experience of your characters, age is immaterial.

11) Author #11: Jeremy Smith

This is a pile of pants. Emotional truth… what kind of psychobabble is this? Everyone will have a different emotional truth if at all. You can’t lump a YA readership into one. As soon as you dissect someone’s soul you destroy it

12) Author #12) Jon Hartless

That’s a difficult one; my stories happen in an alternative Edwardian timeline, where the term “teenager” doesn’t exist, and indeed the very concept of the teenager doesn’t exist – indeed, in reality, up until the 1950s, you were a child until you were an adult. The emotional experience of my characters is therefore not structured as being teenage, though hopefully they are universal and thus recognisable.

July YA Author Interview Answer #1 “What makes your work different from the other YA novels?”

So, the 1st question is “What makes your work different from the other YA novels?”

1) Author #1: Jesse Frankel

I’d like to think that my work turns certain tropes on their heads. While there is nothing new under the sun, plot-wise, there are ways to ‘twist’ certain tropes to your advantage. I’m not afraid of introducing something new or killing off one of the main characters if it helps to advance the plot. I think that my work is better paced than most out there, and offers the reader something new, a fantastic adventure that gets better with every reading.

2) Author #2:  Roxanne San Jose

The story because it is not an everyday experience when someone invented a time machine and his or her loved ones accidentally transported back in time.

3) Author #3: Diane Guntrip

‘Dear H’ was written for a target audience of 10 years +. However, a lot of adults have read this book and tell me it reminds them of incidents in their past. The subject of both, ‘Dear H’, and the sequel, ‘The Daisy Chain’, which was written to appeal to girls of 13 years +, is bullying and associated issues, so it is a worldwide topic that resonates with young and old. One girl told me the book ‘spoke’ to her as it contained ‘messages’.

4) Author #4: Katy Mitchell

While there are relationships in my book, the story is not necessarily romance-centred. Also, the setting is quite different; a seemingly sleepy village in the Lancashire countryside (north west of England).

5) Author #5: Marisa Noelle

I think my work is different to other YA novels because of who I am. I am the only one who has lived my experiences and has my imagination and ideas and so a unique voice is put down in my books. Mental health issues are important to me and so there’s always a thread of that in each book I write to one degree or another. I think the authors I have read in my youth have influenced my style too in that I write a fast paced thriller.

6) Author #6: Amy Beashel

My voice, I hope. I’ve worked hard to create characters whose voices carry the reader straight into the inner-workings of their hearts and minds. It’s intended to feel very immediate. I love love love words. Their sounds. Their rhythm within a sentence. The poetry of different metaphors. And all that could all sound kind of naff but it’s so key to the way I write.

7) Author #7: T.K. Kiser

The Firebrand Legacy is about a 13-year-old girl from the rough part of the fantasy coastal city of Esten. Unlike the townspeople, who celebrate the dragon Kavariel, Carine hates it for killing her sister years before. But when the dragon doesn’t show up for its annual Festival, the kingdom finds itself vulnerable to a threat of dark magic from the north. It is in searching for safety that Carine’s life becomes tangled with fraternal twin princes David and Giles. The Manakor Chronicles is a YA fantasy for younger YA readers, readers who want adventure, friendship, and just the right amount of romantic interest.

8) Author #8: K.B. Shinn

It’s hard to say. Every author strives to create something that’s unique. Two people telling the same story won’t tell that story in the same way. The characters will say different lines, have different motivations, all subject to the whim of the storyteller. I heard somewhere that there are maybe eight different plot lines, but an infinite way to tell them. I’d be a little hesitant to say my work is different from other novels, except to say that no one’s storytelling voice is quite like mine, just like mine isn’t like anyone else’s.

9) Author #9: Shirley McCann

The Scarry Inn series is based on something that really could happen to anyone. For a long time, I didn’t find stories like this, although I’m happy to see more and more YA writers coming back to basics.

10) Author #10: Claire Moore

I describe it as Game of Thrones meets Percy Jackson

11) Author #11: Jeremy Smith

Me. No two writers are the same.

12) Author #12) Jon Hartless

I’ve not read a huge number so I can’t say for sure, but those I have read tend toward the very high stakes; “the fate of the world hangs on Martin Buggins finding the lost beaker of Ethersred, otherwise perpetual darkness will rule the land! Can he find the beaker, rescue his friends and find the courage to ask Helen out? OR IS THE WORLD DOOMED?!?” My Steampunk series, Full Throttle and Rise of the Petrol Queen, are far more earth-bound, but arguably therefore more important. Take away the Steampunk elements and you’re left with the story of a working-class disabled girl trying to fight her way through a man’s world, facing down prejudice and hatred from almost every section of society as she struggles to compete on a non-existent level playing field.

June Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies Author Interview Answer #12 “How do you market and brand yourself as an author?”

June Group Author Interview for Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies authors

The support from Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies authors was amazing as we have 12 authors participating in this group author interview.

If you are an author and would like to participate in our upcoming interviews, check out this link, sign up and get your fans to ask their questions to the participating authors! Some of our group author participants are also being interviewed through Author Live Chat with Fans session! Click here to book a session for yourself!

So, the 12th question is “How do you market and brand yourself as an author?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

That is the most difficult part, still struggling with it

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

I actively market my books in various ways, including buying ads on Amazon, giving several speeches to local groups and conventions, being active on social media, entering and winning book awards, etc. I explain all of the tactics I use to sell my books in my latest book entitled Smart Marketing for Indie Authors.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

By uploading videos onto my YouTube channel, Kate O Show, by having discussions about my book, sharing my experiences. Having Facebook lives, Facebook posts and sharing my Amazon book link,. Instagram life and posts and twitter.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

My marketing and brand are promoted via my website, on which I have created a classy writing style for myself.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

I am “America’s Culturalist!” I make it a point to write only about culture, conflict, commerce, and culture.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

Marketing is not my favorite part of being an Indie author, as many Indies will agree about marketing. We write because we have the passion. We market because we must get our names and our books out into a world that is swimming in millions of other books, so it becomes part of our job as writers to promote our own work. This is far from the fun stuff and also very time-consuming – eating into our writing lives. I try to balance my marketing by sharing the works of others in my writing community, which causes the effect of others sharing in return. I run a blog on my website where I share all kinds of information, from my own stories, to writing tips, book reviews, author interviews and blog shares. I’m active on social media, doing the same. I run several groups on various social media sites. All these things are part of being an independently published author because if my presence isn’t kept alive, neither are my books. By sharing and helping others, we build good rapports with others in our writing community, and in turn we become part of other people’s network. The trick is to share useful information, share the work of others, join writing groups, keep abreast of the publishing business by subscribing to newsletters, and most importantly – don’t spam people with ‘buy my book’. Nobody is interested in being sold to. If we become a part of a community and give back, others are only too happy to help celebrate and share our victories.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

I try to be real and authentic in my life, on social media and everywhere else. I feel that is the best brand and marketing any author can be and do! When you are authentic, readers connect with you and pick up your book because they want to hear what you have to say. A lot of my book sales are organic rather than paid marketing. I love to interact with my readers and engage with them through book clubs, videos, blogs etc.

I post links to my books on Facebook and Twitter, advertise in newspapers, and write a blog for dailywisdomwords.com where my books are also being advertised to gain credibility with the vast wring community on Twitter and Facebook. The blog’s title is Wise Poets of the Past and Present and is designed to educate young aspiring writers in the finer points of writing poetry and prose. It is also a gift to posterity.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Firstly as an author being branded with creative entrepreneur also got over 15 years of acting credits to my name.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

Mostly on Facebook, I tell people my story and most of the time they feel inspired

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

I’m a self-published author so I spend my weekday on the web networking with other authors, people who are willing to interview me such as yourself. I also attend bookfairs and set up a platform on different social networks from http://www.linkedin.com to http://www.wordpress.com

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

So, the 11th question is “Have you written anything else apart from non-fiction books?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

I write a lot on my websites as posts, on many subjects

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

No.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

Yes, I write press releases and quotes.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

Yes, I am currently working on a fiction webplay serial for the family. I have also done poetry.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

Not to date. I have a few fiction-based manuscripts in development, however I always end up going back to my non-fiction manuscripts and finishing them up.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

I have written quite a bit of poetry and flash fiction and essays. But to be honest, even my poetry and fictional stories are always based on a truth – in these instances the truth is hidden within the story instead of directly spoken by me as I write in non-fiction.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

No. I do have future plans to explore other genres.

I love to write free verse inspirational poetry graced with a touch of rhyme and are kind of musical like wind chimes.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Poetry and features articles on different topic subjects.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

Yes, Christian novels. Also to inspire

June Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies Author Interview Answer #10 “Writing the truth is very liberating. How do you feel when the book is finally out and being acknowledged by the public?”

So, the 10th question is “Writing the truth is very liberating. How do you feel when the book is finally out and being acknowledged by the public?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

Good to hear positive comments

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

Whenever one of my books is launched, I feel like a parent that comes home from the hospital with a new baby!

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

I was excited and it was a huge accomplishment for me having ignored writing my book for a decade.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

Each time I publish a book and the book is widely received and celebrated, I feel elated and celebrate my efforts and my readers.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

Generally, I am walking on clouds during this period of the process. However, there is an element which like to comment on what they “think” you said than what you actually wrote. So, I have dealt with negative backlashes from groups who never read my books and have no clue of what I actually said. They, in turn, try to turn their fiction into reality.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

I always feel apprehensive just before publishing, worrying if the book is good enough, entertaining enough in narration, and worrying about if my readers will enjoy it. But once the book is out, there is a sense of accomplishment and excitement in anticipation of the first review to come in, which gives me a sense of what the reader took from my book.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

It feels exhilarating and there is deep sense of satisfaction and freedom from having expressed what I know out there into the world. It is even more fulfilling to see the reviews shared by readers as to how the books have changed their personality and the way they see and experience life! I am extremely grateful and happy to see the way my books have gone into the world and inspired people.

It takes everything I’ve got to write, rewrite and revise my books so I often feel tired and drained when I’m done, but when I finally get that finished, published, glossy new book in my hot little hands, I feel like I’ve just accomplished something important.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Finally getting some acknowledgement by the public and being interviewed 3 times by the internet radio station of Chat and Spin.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

My biggest concern will be if the public will be just as opened as the first book

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

I feel a weight is slowly lifting from my shoulders. My book is to help people as we motivate one another. I ow feel proud that I accomplished something I thought I’ll never do.

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

Ecstatic

So, the 9th question is “As a non-fiction writer, what is the challenge you face when writing your book(s)?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

Being sure of the sources, correct and true information

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

With a full-time legal career and part-time teaching job, it is challenging to find the time to write.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

As a non- fiction writer I wouldn’t say that I face a challenge peculiar to me as a none fiction writer but sometimes I do wish I have the exact photo of certain incidence I am referring to in my book.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

The major challenge I face is funding.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

The toughest challenge for me is gaining reader interest. I think it is harder selling a nonfiction piece than it is for a fictional work. Society seems to want to escape from reality and I am over here, waving my book, saying, “Pay attention to this reality!” It is almost counterintuitive.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

How much I can possibly tell without hurting someone else or divulging private information.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

To keep the book interesting till the end so that the readers feel hooked to continue reading and not feel like they are reading an academic text book!

Living a life that is worthy of my calling. I have my faults.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Being very focus also got to be discipline that includes making commitments to the task at hand as a non-fiction writer when writing my books.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

This was my first. Busy with my 2nd outobiography. Just don’t know from where I should begin and which details is should put in.

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

I cried writing my books So it’s my emotions and how badly I been scared due to my past. I realize I have to get out my feelings.

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

Putting the content in front of the viewers, so they can understand your message

So, the 8th question is “Have you feared rejection or being judged by your family and friends with the topics you choose to discuss in your book?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

Nope

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

When I wrote my first book, I was very concerned with how others would view my book. Now that I have written 3 books or so, I am more concerned with how I view my book. If I like my book, that is more important than what other’s think.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

Not really, because I believe I am now in the driver seat of my life, therefore friends and family opinions is not something I worry about when writing my book. What’s important to me is that I am on a mission to transform lives and to make the world a better place. I am prepared to withstand friends and family judgement as someone who stand for the truth. It’s so true that if you are truly bent on creating change, you should be prepared to face opposition.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

No, I have no worries about the response of loved ones. They have been supportive.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

No, I was raised to think for myself and to say my peace. My words and works are mine to control and I let them land where they may. I’ve won countless awards and have had numerous people tell me how I have helped them or provided insights they would have never been exposed to. Yes, it stings when a friend or family member says they won’t read my books. I won’t lie. But, I never fear that. They love me, I love them, and I am making a difference. What more can I ask for?!?

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

Absolutely! I think every author fears rejection. But when we write personal stories, which almost always entail bringing in other people in our lives and ultimately, into our stories, it’s very unnerving to think about the prospect of sharing it to the world. We worry about who we may upset, will we get sued, will that person in my book ever talk to me again? My advice is to write freely; don’t get blocked by possible repercussions. Get the story out on paper then begin working on the concerning issues when revisions begin. We must be cautious about our descriptions and wording. It’s highly advised to speak with the characters in our books for permissions and to settle uncomfortable conflicts before publishing.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

Initially I did fear but I was writing about exactly that in my first book – how to get over the fear of rejection and be authentic and express yourself. So I personally used the tools and techniques that I share in my book to get over my own fears!

Oh yes. Most of mt supporters are people who I know online. I don’t think my friends at home understand my vision. But that’s Okay, they are where they are in their views and can accept that, but life still goes on for me. Jesus taught that a prophet is not really accepted and understood by their homeboys and neither is a visionary. It scares them I guess when people buck tradition.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

I have to pressed on by overcoming rejection and adversity by moving forward.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

I didn’t fear it, but yes there was family members which was shocked because I was so honest

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

Yes and my family has judged me yet they don’t know me on both sides They know of me and not who I am as a person. Only few read my book with judgmental attitude yet that can’t stop me from telling my stories.

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

So, the 7th question is “What do you primarily aim to acheive with your book?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

Change people’s perception

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

I try to share practical tips that my readers can use to become a successful author or college instructor.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

To help people moving away from the path of depression and helping many to fulfil their potential as 92% of the world population according to statistics fail to fulfil their potential. Become #1 best seller, on Amazon, and use my book as a platform for my newly launched workshop “How To Turn Your Adversity To Triump” and speak internationally on my redefinition of Adversity and my right key Strategies to handle Adversity plus the guidelines to follow to overcome life difficulties.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

The primary aim of my writings is to provide new knowledge.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

I have a term I like to use, “cogent elucidation.” By this, I mean a way of understanding something, in a very logical way, that which is new or hard to understand. So, in many ways, I act as an interpreter, emissary, ambassador, teacher, etc. to help bring understanding to the reader about something I obviously felt driven to write about.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

I write to share my experiences with others. I’ve always felt it was my duty to share what we learn with others. I hope that my stories inspire others by letting them know that there is always a way out of a bad situation. Despite there not being any overnight remedies for life, if we dissect the issues around us and strive to find solutions, we’ll find there is always one.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

To inspire and motivate people to become self-confident, fall in love with themselves, be authentic, to live life to the fullest, to savour every moment with mindful living and to enjoy their own company.

The objective of my book is to bring hope to people who have suffered from childhood trauma and depression, to raise mental health aware with the general public concerning the humanity of “the mentally ill, and to challenge the stock Hollywood movie stereotypes of what really constitutes mental illness. I also want to raise awareness that there is significant pain involved, but with tender loving care, acceptance and proper treatment, and faith in God, recovery is not only possible but probable.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Want to become best seller with my book relating to the powerful subject topic.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

For people to turn to the Lord

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

The goal is to use my story as an example of why not to give up on life when we go through trials and tribulations. When life gives you lemons you make a lemon detox to get rid of the toxic in ad around us. For we go through things for a reason and may we learn from it.

June Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies Author Interview Answer #6 “Did you use references from other sources/facts/science when writing your book?”

June Group Author Interview for Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies authors

Hello everyone! So, the 6th question is “Did you use references from other sources/facts/science when writing your book?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

My book TOXIC CAPITALISM has over 500 sources of information mentioned

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

Yes.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

Not really, but when I refer to a quote or statement or view of someone I refer to the individual but I didn’t reference my book as it’s my life experiences really.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

Of course, provided the nonfiction book was not a memoir, sources are necessary, as are facts. However, facts need not be scientifically proven. For instance, I can say I saw a spirit ~mmam. That could be a fact; it could also be an imagination. How do I scientifically prove my experience? Nevertheless, if I say my cousin and I saw an mmam, it can no longer be an imagination, but a fact. The ability to prove the experience to cynics becomes irrelevant.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

Yes, I think you owe it to the reader to do a well-researched non-fiction book. Of course, you shouldn’t just restate the works of others. I also think a good portion of a book should be the author’s understanding of a subject, personal experiences, professional experiences, observations, etc. This is what makes the book special and truly the author’s own work. Otherwise, you’d be better served just reading a Wikipedia article.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

No, all of my stories are taken from my own real life experiences.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

No, I did not. It was a sharing of my story and experiences.

I used the internet to research a few facts in my book and to gain a better understanding of my backstory.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

Yes I do use references from other sources and facts when writing my book.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

No, because it is about my life, I already went through it

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

The only reference I used was my memory from what all I witness and went through in life.

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

Yes

June Non-Fiction/Memoirs/Biographies Author Interview Answer #5 “There are cases of non-fiction books being fabricated with false and misleading information. How much truth should a non-fiction book hold?”

So, the 5th question is “There are cases of non-fiction books being fabricated with false and misleading information. How much truth should a non-fiction book hold?”

1) Author #1 : Gilbert Van Kerckhove

In my case all information had to be checked and certified as correct information.

2) Author #2:  Mike Kowis

If the nonfiction book is intended as an instruction manual or guide, it should be 100% accurate and true.

3) Author #3: Kate Iroegbu

For me I should say 100℅ of truth, it’s either you keep it real or it’s not.

4) Author #4: Umm Sulaim

A nonfiction book ought to contain the whole truth and be devoid of propaganda.

5) Author #5: Ken Johnson

I have a strict rule that a non-fiction book becomes fiction the first time a false, or fabricated, element is deliberately introduced and portrayed as real and true. This does not mean one can’t do role playing scenarios or give hypotheticals. But, apart from these exceptions, it must be true always to be non-fiction.

6) Author #6: Debby Gies

If it’s a non-fiction or memoir book, it absolutely must be factual. It’s not uncommon for an author to use creative non-fiction, for instance, in memoir, when we recall an exact detail – example, maybe it wasn’t a bright, sunny day or perhaps the red dress was really green although we remember it as red, the description of one of the character’s jobs has been changed to protect identity. These examples stated are just a few to demonstrate how truth may be altered, as memories are as the storyteller remembers something. And as far as changing names and occupations of characters goes, it is to protect identity and should be declared in the front matter of the book as a disclaimer. This is all acceptable for writing non-fiction – making up events and characters is not.

7) Author #7:  Pratima Nagaraj

You can always incorporate some fictional aspects and stories into a non-fiction book if that is required to drive a point home or explain things better. If you are advocating for authenticity and realism in your books then I highly recommend keeping the entire content real and true.

It should all be accurate to the best of the author’s knowledge, especially if it’s going to be a memoir. We as authors have an awesome responsibility to be true to the truth.

9) Author #9: Errol Baptiste

As a writer of non-fiction book the truth got to be told with total honesty.

10) Author #10: Edna Cane-Swannepoel

It must be full off truth. I just changed some of the names in my book

11) Author #11: Kristalen Babb

I feel the truth should be told regardless of how the story is. Just as pure as fire can be so should the truth. certain people feel the truth should be kept a secret but on the truth will set you free inn ay and every situation.

12) Author #12) Steve Wilson

100%
