Facebook Posting Rule
1) Adding links to your post is effective for marketing — Not anymore! Facebook is a business and if you are posting something on your fanpage to gain profit, you should be paying for the paid advertisement. That’s what they want. Refrain from posting links directly. Type what you want your followers to know in a sentence, post the link in the comment instead.
2) #Hashtags #works #the #way #you #want — Hell no! Use hashtags only when you know that those keywords will help people to discover your posts better. Do not tag keywords like #sex #porn #sexy when your post is all about “Finding the Right Career” just because you think these tags work better.
3) Picture are useless — Sometimes, images can help you in sending the message out to followers better.
4) One size fit all — What works for your friend in marketing may not work for you on Facebook. Trial and errors will tell you what works for you.

Writing Tips by J.K. Rowling

I think that most writers admire J.K. Rowling. We’ve heard how she spent hours writing her books in an Edinburgh café (I vote for Nicholson’s, but Edinburgh café owners seem entangled in a heated debate regarding which one she actually preferred, and I have heard a number of possible options, never quite sure as to which one is the true one. Could it be she frequented more than one??). We know how her manuscripts were declined by an astounding number of publishers (something that most writers experience), how she was broke but still wrote and how eventually she managed to turn things around for herself. The rest is history, and I guess that most authors, whether self-published or trad-pub, pray night and day that they will have her good fortune (I know I do).
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that anything…

Another audio book to check out!
[I received this audiobook version of Landline by Rainbow Rowell from Macmillan Audio in exchange for an honest review (thank you)! This does not affect my opinion of the book or audiobook in any way.]
Rainbow Rowell’s Landline was one of my most anticipated releases this summer, so when I was approached by Macmillan Audio to review the audiobook version I needed absolutely no convincing. I was thrilled to be killing two birds with one stone: read this highly buzzed-about book and re-familiarize myself with audiobooks. As it turns out, this book was perfect for the job as it was dialogue-heavy and engaging.
Landline starts with main character Georgie McCool coming home with some great news: her pitch for a new TV show went well and now she and her writing partner have a chance to present a few episode scripts to her network. The only problem is that the meeting was…

Great tips for marketing!
My dear friend MMJaye published this awesome blog post today, titled 13 Strategy-Altering Blogging Stats, that was based on a post by Mitt Ray of Social Marketing Writing. Mitt has taken all blog-related statistics he could lay his hands on and created a superb infographic that is an excellent resource for all us bloggers.
Along with the blogging stats, Mitt has provided some tips on how they can be used to create a better blog. He also lists his original sources, which is a great idea for anyone looking for some extra reading into this. I have converted these to easy-to-follow links, for your convenience. I suggest you take a look whenever you have some free time to spare; they make for a fascinating read. On the other hand, the most important lessons are already included in Mitt’s infographic, so even if you’re pressed for time (and who isn’t?), you can just look at…
