Live Video Interview with Author Else Byskov and Barry Rice
It was an absolute fun to have Else and Barry, together with Gabby, who is Barry’s marketing agent. They were the participants of the May author interview for Spirituality and Religious genres, and having them sharing their experiences on Matinus’ teaching and life as a Vietnam veteran was an eye-opening experience for me. Check out the replay and leave us a comment on YouTube.

So, the 5th question is “Did your faith helped you through the writing and publishing process?”
Yes, it did, from the moment I began writing my first book, I had this sense that God was going to have my books published. I never had to search really. I emailed one publisher, but upon their acceptance of one book, I felt that I needed to wait. Then a few years later that same publisher emailed me back and wanted to publish all of my books.
I believe that spirit guides help me not only with mediumship but with many (if not all) aspects of my life. I’m certain they urged me to write the book, and I know they supported the entire process.
My faith did help me. I always pray and ask God for assistance before I sit down to write. With publishing I ask The Universe for the Highest and Most Best means for the book to be published.
Yes… what I shared in the book helped with the process of writing and publishing the book and everything else, including live events and attracting people to subscribe to weekly webinars. Since writing the book I have broadened what I share and apply.
Without question, yes!! I have been blessed over the years in dealing with cancer, heart issues, various surgeries, divorce and financial slowdown. My acceptance of Jesus Christ and my faith in God and in the opportunities He presents upon the horizon of every sunrise has been and continues to be the recipe for the minor inconveniences that come my way. Writing of my faith and my speaking engagements to the many groups I have over the years continues to bolster my own faith, particularly as I hear back from readers and speech attendees.
My faith in religion? No, because I didn’t really take to religion. I didn’t have a religion and still don’t have one. Not having a certain faith had helped me write this book.
My Philosophy yes, which is also my Spirituality, since it’s founded on Core Character foundations, powerful in any situation. This is the focus of my Spirituality, to be enabled and empowered in any circumstance, and thus have one’s Spirituality never be compromised, because it’s built on: The Way-of-Impeccability.

So, the 4th question is “Have you felt called in some way to write a book on a given topic?”
Every topic I write is something that is within my heart. The titles just come to me and what they are going to be about. I have never had to “try” to come up with something. So, in essence, I feel I am called to write every book I have ever written.
Yes. Usually any time I write, especially falling under the spiritual genre, I feel called to do so. I have many ideas for future books and plenty of unfinished and unpublished manuscripts with a plethora of content and ideas.
Yes, to lead other’s to see and understand that God presents Himself to everyone, every day, disguised as a sunrise (in spite of clouds of confusion, worry, financial hardship and more) bearing God’s immense love, power, blessings and opportunities to enjoy His bounty.
Yes. I always knew I had some type of purpose but I didn’t think it was for a book. Now that this book is out, I believe that writing this exact story of this exact event is one of the things I was called here to do.
Yes. The Biella Series, a series dealing with the New Nobility, a society founded around Nobleness. (And not connected in any way to hereditary nobility.)
Yes i do I never written a book in my life I thought it was a completely crazy idea and I fought the urge for a while then it came to a point I couldn’t fight it anymore

Laura Johnson is a Southern lady from the great state of Texas. She lived in Florida for over 30 years and now resides in NJ. Laura was an entertainer for 30+ years. She traveled up and down the East coast from Florida to Maine as a vocalist with a dinner and dance band. She is currently spending part of her time as an audiobook narrator. ‘The Wonderful World of Audiobooks/Earn Money From Home As An Audiobook Narrator’ is Laura’s first book as an author. It was written to help others learn how they can become an audiobook narrator. Laura loves to read, cook, and spend time with her son and 4 grandchildren.
Planning The Perfect Party
Where are you from? Texas
Why do you write? To help others and it relaxes me, fulfills a need.
What do you write about? My life experiences, hobbies, and journeys.
Do you have a specific writing style? Not really, just write from the heart.
What are obstacles that come in the way of writing? Trying to decide what to write about next.
What’s the most memorable thing asked/said by a reader about your work? The following review: “What a great read. A wonderful first hand experience style to an introduction to the narration world. If you’ve ever wondered if you could really pull off an audiobook narration this will absolutely inspire you. It certainly has inspired me!”
How long have you been writing? Since June of 2018.
When did you first realize you wanted to become a writer? Years ago, when I did some writing assignments in college. Just never followed through. Let life get in the way.
What is your work schedule like when you are writing? I am retired. So, I have no work schedule to follow.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? I need total quiet, a cup of coffee, and feel the urge to write. That’s hard to explain, but I know when the urge comes on. It’s just a feeling I have.
How long does it take to write a book? (if you’ve written one -published or non) Since I only write non-fiction, how-to guides, it doesn’t take as long as a fictional novel. The longest time I spent writing was on my new party planning book. It took about 3 months. The shortest amount of time was 1 month.
Do you have suggestions on how to become a better writer? Not a clue. I was hoping you could answer that question.
What challenges do you come across when writing/creating your story? I don’t write stories, but my biggest challenge in writing is remembering the life experiences I want to write about. At 70, sometimes memories have faded. But I do a lot of research on the subject I am writing about and that usually jogs my memory.
What do you think makes a good story? Not my expertise. But I love good chemistry between the characters, lots of action, and of course, a happy ever after ending. I am a romantic at heart.
What does your family think of your writing? My family, son and grandchildren are very supportive and even those family members that I only interact with online, love what I am doing. My brother is one of my biggest fans. Haven’t seen him in a bout 6 years and he follows me on FB.
Do you see writing as a career? No career. I am too old for a career. Just a wonderful pastime and hobby that fulfills a need and keeps my mind occupied.
Do you have anything specific you’d like to tell the readers? Certainly. Never forget your passion. Follow your dreams wherever they may lead. Look at me 70 years young and living my dream.
When did you first consider yourself a writer? When I published my 1st book and saw my name on the cover on Amazon.
Do you have links that you’d like to share for others to read?

So, the 3rd question is “Any particular reason you elected to write under that genre?”
Yes. The spiritual genre has always been a personal interest of mine and helping others through my personal experiences in spirituality is a passion I hold.
Because it resonated with me and at the time my soul was lit up in wanting to share it… I had been asked by many to write a book as they were inspired by my quotes on social media and it felt right to share what I did in my book.
Not really. I like exploring different genres and Janma Antare happens to be my first under spirituality. My other books are based on clairvoyance, romance, the Eastern Illuminati. So yeah!
God has abundantly filled my life with blessings and opportunities, in spite of the minor inconveniences of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, early-life heart quadruple bypass, temporary financial setback, divorce and everyday daily circumstances that could forestall my forward movement . . . if I allowed them.
My book is a memoir about my spiritual experience, so it makes sense to write a book where spirituality is the theme. My book is “Boom! The Life and Times of a Suicide Near Death Experiencer”, available on Amazon.
It’s my life. Everything I do is influenced by my Spirituality, which is a deep, comprehensive and cohesive Philosophy, called the A+ Philosophy. It infuses everything I do and write, even my fiction.
I did not decide that. It gradually happened over a period of time

So, the 2nd question is “Do you hide the scriptures in your book or not fully quote in order to accommodate everyone including those who are not of your faith with the aim of delivering the message?”
No I do not. The Word of God says “if anyone is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when He comes in His glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” I write for the glory of God, not man. It is when God is glorified that people are touched and healed.
I make no references to scriptures. Mediumship has been practiced for thousands of years on all continents and isn’t restricted to any one faith. If people have a problem with the concept of mediumship they’re unlikely to be reading my book.
No. I do call God, “Higher Power”, “The Universe”, “Source”, or “Higher Self” and use all five interchangeably depending on the context through which I am speaking about.
When we speak from the place we are all from we all resonate regardless of the words we use… there is an inner awareness and familiarity to what is being shared. Some may not want to see it or refuse to see it and that is part of their journey at this time, which is fine. Others open to it will be lit up because they are hearing/reading what they have been searching for and gives them the confirmation and confidence about their life.
Well, I never quoted any verses from the holy scriptures. The whole idea is of course, to accommodate a large range of readers and not confined to just one faith.
I’ll quote scripture where Appropriate, but seldom do. Our Spirituality does not conflict with any religion, and is practicable by all and enhances their religious practice significantly.

What do you think about having a book signing event or hosting one for fellow authors?
My recent experience was the book signing event for “The Sin of a Fresh Graduate”. It was an event hosted by a residential community together with my former university faculty. We had a great experience preparing for the event and the fact that we collaborated with various community groups enabled us to leverage the marketing power of a university to reach a wider group of academian. We sold close to 200 books now within 3 weeks and we’re looking at printing the second edition.
Share your experiences with us and let us know what you think about book signing events.

So, the 1st question is “What are some experiences (if any) that shaped you as a spiritual writer?”
My passion for the Lord and how He has held my heart in His hand many times, from the hardships of being married to an alcoholic & drug addict, to the loss of my youngest son and my marriage. Needing to be loved so desperately, I sought the Lord. He healed my heart and gave me the passion to write. Each book I write are topics within that I myself, have learned and want to pass on to my readers.
My book, Choosing to be a Medium: Experience & Share the Healing Wonder of Spirit Communication, was inspired by my personal journey into mediumship. I discovered a passion for the subject and endeavored to become a medium even though most people think you can’t learn to be one and need to be “born that way.” I persevered, and proved that one can learn to be a medium. I wrote the book to share that mediumship can be purposefully developed. I describe my journey and give step-by-step instructions, including many exercises, to give readers the opportunity to explore this fascinating field and develop their own mediumistic abilities. I also teach mediumship development classes, run a mediumship development circle, and lead mediumship development retreats.
I have been a psychic, healer, and spiritual consultant for over 10 years which has shaped and formed the type of writing I do in this genre. Not only is this a career but part of my daily life that influences writing within spirituality.
My father passing away (putting a long story short) led me down the path of personal development that later led to spirituality. A search for greater meaning in the coincidences in my life led to discovering so much more and in time writing and teaching others to manifest in oneness with the magic that life and nature intended for us.
My past of feeling rejected by my birth man and woman, feelings of being rejected by God (I was a bastard child as defined in Deuteronomy 23:2 (King James), teased by my childhood friends for same and being asked to leave a church by a minister after my service in Vietnam (veterans were being labeled as “Baby Killers”, and his statement that “The House of the Lord does not accept Baby Killers”. Later in life, after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and being given 12 – 18 months to live, I was led to see in a sunrise that God had loved and accepted me all along and that He presents everyone with a multitude of blessings and opportunities with every sunrise.
My experience is known as a near death experience. My experience was from a suicide attempt. I crossed over to the other side, then I returned. On the other side, I met God and those I call angels in the spiritual realm. We spoke telepathically.
My entire Life since a Young Man, when I switched to Living via Attunement, which makes everything a spiritual affair. Some specific experiences which stand out are: Living in the desert with nothing, no electricity, no plumbing, no running water, nothing. A profound and fabulous experience. Having a restaurant on top of a mountain on a game-reserve where we got to know, hang out, and be friends with a group of Bushmen. And being homeless on the streets of Santa Monica, a fantastic and fun experience. There are many many others, too many to list.
My inspiration for writing comes from the personal journey from a non believer in Jesus Christ into a true believer in Jesus Christ for years I denied that there was a God and that he gave his son for our everlasting life but through my personal struggles I have come to realize for years I was totally wrong and have my life to him and I have a whole new outlook on life he gave me the will to live when in my darkest hours I wanted to die
Understanding of the essence of the spirituality encouraged me to be a spiritual writer
