Message to Joseph Pierre:

Hello, Joseph, thank you for letting me participate in this wonderful cause. I keep hoping this world would just see people as people, not black, white, red, or yellow. I have a story to tell you: I grew up in Detroit and worked at Henry Ford Hospital for 25 years. Many different peoples worked there and it was wonderful. Yes, there were problems at times but I loved it. My husband decided to move up north and I had gotten a job in a nearby hospital, I don’t want to say where for obvious reasons. Things were so different there. They did have peoples from other countries but there were no African-American people, and I never felt so out of place! Mind you, I’m Polish American but the lack of these wonderful people made me feel so out-of-place. I truly understand how African American people feel when they’re in this situation. It would be such a blessing to have us all just be people. From not hiring certain races to mistreating them, I want it to stop.

International Book Promotion is launching the cinematic book trailer for Author Joseph Pierre’s book, “Life Experience of A Black Man by Joseph Pierre” on Facebook and Google +

We will host a series of fun-filled activities and guest authors will also be participating in this event. Invite your friends who to this event and stand a chance to win exciting prices!

The first author we’d like to feature is Jennifer Priester.

Jennifer Priester is an author and an artist. She loves animals and has adopted most of hers from rescue centers. She also enjoys taking her dog for bike rides, horseback riding, reading, listening to music, watching TV and movies, and playing video game.

Jennifer has written over 200 stories in the areas of animals, the relationships between humans and animals, magic, superheroes and more. Her first published works include the first three books in her uniquely written Mortal Realm Witch Series which focuses on a witch whose biggest dream is to end prejudice between witches and mortals. None of the books in the first half of her series need to be read in order, however there is an ongoing storyline. If you want to read how the characters develop over time, Jennifer recommends that readers begin with Book One, but if you want to jump right into the action, begin with Book Three, then read Books One and Two later as back stories.

Besides the second half of her series, Jennifer has many other works in progress. You can find the full list on her website, www.jenniferpriester.com and learn more about the Mortal Realm Witch Series atwww.mortalrealmwitch.com.

Message to Joseph Pierre: Thanks for allowing me to join you. As someone that loves good hearted witches, and even writes about them, I have been judged plenty. Not long ago I felt I had a choice to make when I was told I had to hate witches due to my religion, however I simply couldn’t  hate anyone with a good heart. It was these same witches that taught me to get to know people before judging them. That fact, and my experience, led me to discover my view in life. Everyone and everything is individual. I’m not going to judge anyone by what they are or what abilities they might have, but by who they are. Whether human, animal, or even a fictional character, everyone should be judged by their hearts. To me this is really the most important thing.

Joseph,
thank you for the opportunity to celebrate your enlightening perspective on racism.
Racism and all forms of intolerance humanity subjects one another to is  the vehicle hate
spreads it’s poison with. Until Humanity learns to nourish and protect each other suffering
will dominate our lives instead of joy. The problems on the other side of the planet quickly
becomes our own, one way or another we will learn.

Joseph Pierre believes racism is being misinterpreted in America. Those whites who had suffered emotionally and psychologically to say no to slavery, segregation , racism, must be recognized and echoed in America. Those whites who had been humiliated, brutalized, and killed due to injustices to blacks must be known to our communities. Being in poverty is not an excuse to get involved in illegal activities. But it is a motivation to become a successful man or a woman in life. Regardless of my deplorable poverty condition, my dignity is first.

The book is now available on Amazon and other online stores.

“The United States of America, the land of young J Pierre’s dreams. A country he believed that would change his life entirely; a place where he could rejoice forever. Packed with high hopes and loaded with ambition and optimism, he migrated to this place he considers Paradise. However, not too long after he sets foot in this country, he was forced to face reality and deal with the unexpected. J Pierre narrates his story of the challenges he has encountered in this foreign land; the bouts he has with law enforcers, and the people who deemed to torment him because of the mere color of his skin. As he was confronted with these issues, J Pierre proves that nothing can change his principles and ideals; that an understanding of the human nature can help make things better. As he recounts his real life experiences in this country, J Pierre will make you see what he has come to understand about people, regardless of the color of our skin, and how such misconceptions can be resolved.”

I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you around in this event.

Maya Angelou and The Hidden Past

My recent post !

Jasveena R Prabhagaran's avatarThoughts And Views That Matter!

The world was saddened by the demise of Maya Angelou a few months ago. She was a great leader, a brilliant teacher and above all, a wonderful soul who had so many stories and life’s lessons to share with us. Admit it. We actually learn about people more when they are gone. Their good and bad deeds would turn into topics to discuss for the next few days.

Maya Angelou was no exception. She passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind her glorious life as a legacy. The media did a commendable job in highlighting her achievements but what amazes me is the fact that the media glorified the ‘good stuff’ of her life, the ‘past’ that we would be proud to talk about, the stories that would earn her more ‘respect’ and the talents she had that left the entire world amazed.

What about the past that…

Holly Jenson is a senior at Madison High School. She’s also a new student and nervous about fitting in. The senior class camping trip is coming up and with her new friend, Mindy, and her crush, Matt going, she hopes to have a good time. The school holds this camping trip every year to teach students about surviving without modern technology. Cell phones, computers, Ipods, and any other electronic devices are not allowed.

At first, Holly fears that the trip will be a disaster with the popular kids being forced to share their cabins and interact with ones who they’ve bullied. But, then things get worse when the phones stop working and people start to disappear one by one. Holly, along with Mindy and Matt, start to realize that a killer is among the group.

They have spooky campfire stories over roasted marshmallows and hiking trips when students start to disappear. Everyone is ordered to stay in their cabins by the teachers who look after them, but then they go missing too.

Holly, along with Matt and Mindy, hatch a plan to go along with the Saturday Night dance which was planned from the beginning, for the students to attend on their last night there. If they are all in the same place, they feel that the killer would be easy to catch. But, things don’t go as planned and Holly figures out who the killer is before it’s revealed. The other students doubt her, but could she be right? As they try to hang on to their last breath, they do their best to take the killer down. That is, if they live long enough.
